Training & Professional Experience
Dr. Chike-Obi has traveled the world seeking the most rigorous training and education to perfect his craft. Born in Philadelphia, he spent his formative years in Nigeria and then returned to Philadelphia to begin his Ivy League education at The University of Pennsylvania.
He continued on to the top-ranked University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, the nation’s first medical school. This early exposure to masters in breast and facial surgery was crucial in shaping Dr. Chike-Obi’s surgical philosophy and attention to detail in the operating room. He then completed a six-year residency at Baylor College of Medicine at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, a renowned plastic surgery epicenter where the first silicone breast implant was developed.
In addition to his formal training, Dr. Chike-Obi took the additional time and effort to observe and learn different techniques from several leading surgeons in cities including New York, San Francisco, Dallas, and Chicago to further increase his surgical knowledge. He then spent the next 10 years perfecting his processes and developing the vision that has allowed him to deliver exemplary outcomes, all while focusing entirely on the person in front of him.

Education & Training
Dr. Chike-Obi’s Time-Tested Process
Surgery, and injectables, are a highly personal endeavor. My approach is to carefully take in the appropriate input, before even attempting to create any change desired by the patient.
The inputs are visual, auditory, and tactile. Entering the conversation with openness of mind is laborious and time-consuming, but it is the only way to truly tailor the right procedure to the right person. After observing and digesting these important details, I formulate the surgical plan.
This plan formulation process may take a few seconds for a botox session, or several weeks for a longer, more complex procedure such as a mommy makeover. The plan is constantly reformulated and modified in the days leading up to the procedure, reviewing pre-procedure photos and inspiration photos. Sometimes sketching of the desired results is necessary and helpful.
All this prep work ensures optimal execution of the surgical plan on the day of the procedure. My dedicated team and I will spend time counseling on pre-procedure and post-procedure care which will have a huge impact on speed of recovery and the quality of your outcome.
My surgical procedures are performed at Westlake Hills Surgery Center, a state-of-the art ambulatory surgery center where I currently serve as Medical Director.
