What Is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is an FDA-approved injectable designed to stimulate your body’s own collagen production. How Does Sculptra® Work?

You’re essentially renting volume for 6 to 12 months.
Sculptra® is different. It contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible compound that has been used safely in medicine for decades, including in dissolvable sutures. When injected, PLLA acts as a scaffold that stimulates your fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen, to get back to work. Over the following weeks and months, your body gradually replaces the PLLA with your own natural collagen.

What to Expect: The Treatment Process
Sculptra® is administered as a series of injections, typically over two to three appointments spaced four to six weeks apart. We ask that patients arrive 30 to 45 minutes early so the topical anesthetic we apply has time to take effect. Sculptra® can also be reconstituted with lidocaine for added comfort, so most patients report little to no discomfort during the procedure.
At 360 Plastic Surgery, I take a whole-face approach. Most patients point to their cheeks or nasolabial folds as their primary concern, and we address those areas directly. But I also carefully place Sculptra® in the temples, chin, and jawline to create a balanced, naturally youthful result rather than just filling one area in isolation.
Updated injection techniques, including hyperdilution protocols and cannula-based delivery, allow us to treat broader areas with improved precision and reduced risk of nodule formation compared to earlier approaches. These refinements have made the treatment even more comfortable and the results even more consistent.
Post-Treatment Care
Aftercare is minimal. We recommend the 5-5-5 rule: massage treated areas five times a day, for five minutes, for five days after your injections. This helps distribute the product evenly and promotes smooth, natural results.
Mild swelling or bruising can occur but typically resolves within a few days. We offer arnica at our clinic to help minimize bruising, and ice packs and ibuprofen are all you need for any mild soreness. Most patients resume their normal activities the same day.
